CCLEX will implement full electronic payment starting October 1

The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) will implement full contactless toll payment beginning Saturday, October 1, 2022, approximately three weeks from now.

This move is intended to improve the motorist experience, which also means that the remaining CCLEX payment lanes will be converted to proprietary Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) lanes.

CCLEX has a total of 10 toll lanes, four of which currently accept cash to meet the needs of motorists who have not yet obtained RFID tags for their vehicles.

“Our transition to full contactless toll payment is intended to provide a more efficient highway experience for our road users and allow them to travel easily,” said Allan G. Alfon, President and CEO of Cebu- Cordova Link Expressway Corporation (CCLEC).

CCLEC began partially converting some toll booths on the highway to RFID lanes on July 1st.

With three weeks remaining until CCLEX’s full e-toll system rollout, CCLEC encouraged motorists already equipped with RFID to top up their accounts online through the MPT DriveHub, an all-in-one travel companion app. a.

For motorists still using toll lanes, the CCLEC encouraged them to switch to RFID for faster and more transparent driving.

RFID top-up options

MPT DriveHub app is available for free on Google Play Store and App Store. Drivers can install it at https://qrco.de/DriveHubPR-1 to easily track their RFID account and top up in real time via debit or credit card, Maya and other charging services.

Linking the CCLEX RFID account to the app has also been made more convenient and easier, as motorists can now scan the QR code on the RFID card to register.

OTP (one-time code) verification has also been simplified as it is now sent via SMS rather than email, for an easier and faster registration process.

In addition to the MPT DriveHub app, motorists can also top up their CCLEX RFID at CCLEX Customer Service Centers at Toll Plaza. It is open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., Monday to Saturday throughout the month of September.

Walk-in RFID installation

For motorists who do not yet have RFID, they can program their installation by going to cclex.com.ph and clicking on the register button.

Walk-ins are also now accepted at customer service centers conveniently located on both sides near the CCLEX toll plaza and at off-site install stations at Anjo World Theme Park in Minglanilla and Landers Superstore in Cebu City.

CCLEX, now considered the tallest and tallest bridge structure in the country, is a project of CCLEC, in partnership with local government units of Cebu City and Cordoba Municipality.

According to a study by the University of San Carlos, the bridge is seen not only as a means of reducing traffic jams in the metro, but also as a vehicle for socio-economic development in the province. (PR)
