Tertiary access payment open to applications

Capricornia MP Michelle Landry speaks to Girls Grammar students.

The Member of Parliament for Capricornia, MLA Michelle Landry, is delighted to announce that the Tertiary Access Payment (TAP) program is open for applications.

As the school year draws to a close for the class of 2022, now is the perfect time for these students to apply.

Landry said if successful, applicants will receive between $3,000 and $5,000 to cover moving costs to begin graduate school.

“The cost of moving is often a significant barrier for students wishing to relocate to pursue higher education, Landry said.

“TAP is an important initiative as it ensures that our children in remote parts of Australia are not left behind.

“By removing the burden of having to cover the upfront costs of a move, it levels the playing field for students located in rural areas to access high quality higher education.

“I encourage all students and their families to take advantage of this program.”

Students can check their eligibility for this program by visiting Services Australia – Tertiary Access Payment. They can also check other support programs that may be available to them, such as resettlement grant and tariff allowance.
